Ok so for the record my favourite colour is turquoise. Maybe its because it evokes thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a tranquil escape on a tropical island. Turquoise has the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green. The colour is based on the gem also called turquoise.
It is the symbol of youth, both the color and the gemstone. This color has a soothing affect. Turquoise has long been used in amulets to provide protection, health, confidence and strength. It is a wonderful energy healing colour.
Because it has both warm and cool undertones, turquoise can work with just about every other color. Depending on how you use it, turquoise decor can be bold or dreamy. It can be used in traditional and classic rooms or contemporary, modern spaces. The key when decorating with turquoise is to use it in a way that works for your space and your personality.
As a big turquoise fan I have been following the blog House of Turquoise which posts about the most beautiful turquoise interiors. I found these beautiful images of a beautiful home that she has previously posted.
Turquoise is reminiscent of water and lends itself nicely to bathrooms. The turquoise mosiac tiles are fun & fresh. I love the more subtle aqua colour painted cabinetry the softer tones blend well without the room looking over the top in one colour.
This white kitchen looks beautiful against the turquoise paint work & wood paneling. The turquoise brick effect tiles against the marble work top are a gorgeous combination. The room feels fresh but also chic.
I love the pink sofa against the turquoise colour pallette its a pretty combination. The lounge and dining areas also bring in a mix of pink & lemon pastels. Its a beautiful home with a strong feminine touch and I love it.
I love this room the mix of pastel colours and fabrics. Stunning furniture pieces mixed with the built in window seat. Its a very cosy feeling room. The whole home has a very comfortable feel to it. Beautifully styled and put together.

Turquoise is my to go color when in doubt. I just love the freshness of it!
ReplyDeleteAnd that bathroom above is done sooo well!
The last 2 images are just fantastic, as you say the way the rooms are put together is just "right". Turquoise and pink? Not sure but here they look good. Always good in a bathroom, I had it in my last house. x
ReplyDeleteGreat post, summer colour palette! :) Turquoise is also very nice in all oriental-inspired interiors.
ReplyDeleteReally love that kitchen! The white cabinets look fantastic against the wall color.
ReplyDeleteI've never been good with pastels, but I'm trying to incorporate some blues in with my browns/neutrals. The turquoise is such a beautiful shade and so tranquil. Tks for sharing some great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteGlad you stopped by :)
Love the gorgeous bathroom and the charming living room!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend!
