Pirate Ship Cake
A lot of work went into this cake but I was so pleased with it when I was finished and I hope you like it too. I first made the pirates out of rolled fondant one with a patch and black teeth the other with a gold earring and a wooden leg. I then made a treasure chest, sails for the ship and no pirate goes without a naughty parrot companion. Next I made two big rectangle cakes and once cooled I cut and carved them into the desired shape. Once I had covered the whole ship with butter cream twice I coloured the fondant and rolled it out and covered over the whole cake. Then when I had trimmed the fondant I used a scalpel and turned the fondant into wooden panels. I then made port holes and painted them a outline of gold. My wonderful partner cut me the wood for sails to sit on and then I covered the board sea blue with royal icing and piped some waves on too. I added the sharks for a little extra to my design. Thanks for reading :)
Love this cake, what little boy wouldn't like it!
