                                                           Moody grey tones

Moody grey tones are bang on trend right now. Although grey has always been a timeless palette, & can be used in both contemporary or traditional room schemes. Being a neutral colour it has a very calming & tranquil affect.

Dark moody walls work wonderfully as a back drop against warm neutral furniture. For a cosy, country feel choose distressed tan leather sofas & chairs & opt for chocolate shades of wood like walnut to compliment this. The darker shades of grey like slates & clays, team well with other lighter neutral tones & have a real autumn feel.

However dark colours can make a room look dreary if you are not careful especially with these dark evenings drawing in, so bring your space to life with large mirrors to bounce around some light & don’t forget to select good lighting. Add in other lighter neutral tones in accessories, maybe a seasonal fur through in a soft cream or even a snowy white.

When choosing your wall paint I suggest checking out Little Green Paint Company’s new Grey collection.  There are seven variations on four different grey colours making twenty eight individual swatches on the fabulous new colour card, so there really is something for everyone

If you are not brave enough to slap on the seasonal dark slate shades to your walls why not go for a lighter tone & add the darker shades into accessories & fabrics. Adding plums & metallic’s gives a softer more romantic feel especially when you layer textures.
