Today my featured designer is Rachel Ashwell, born in Cambridge, England, (which is 17 miles from where I live). She now lives in the USA but has stores on both continents. Rachel is an author & designer & she founded her company Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Couture in 1989.
She opened her first Shabby Chic store August of 1989 in Santa Monica, California selling machine washable slipcovered furniture and vintage accessories. She now has three stores which are located in Santa Monica, California; Soho, New York; and London’s Notting Hill neighbourhood. These stores sell custom machine washable slipcovered furniture, vintage accessories, furniture and bedding.
2011 saw Rachel forfil her dream of owning her own hotel a small B&B in Texas The Prairie by Rachel Ashwell which has been designed with all that is Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Couture. As well as being avilable for guests to stay & experience the lifestyle it is also avilable for special events, seminars, film locations and weddings.
