Light luxury

Accessories are the luxury of the home & they certainly define & finish the look. Lighting is probably the most important accessory you can buy. Chaneliers have made a huge impact in the passed couple of years from old vintage to the more contempory there is something for every taste.
I really like this Capiz chandelier from BP Teen which retails at $129.00
Rows of delicate capiz shells in tonal colours dangle from a circular frame. Its a contemporary chandelier & comes with matching table lamps. I think this would be stunning either in a bedroom or a bathroom.

If you are on a bugdet many DIY stores now sell chandelier kits so you can create one for yourself with a personal touch. Or how about making your own bedside lampshade. Buy a basic white lamp base & shade & give it your own personal touch of luxury. Stick on beads with PVA glue or cover with left over fabric scraps for a vintage feel.

The talented Erin McCathy reveals this beautiful rose petal lampshade that she made for her little girls bedroom. She brought a basic lamp & shade from target & went to town spending months sewing these individual roses & then sewing them to the lampshade. Isnt it amazing! I love how it gives such a soft illumination. Just perfect for bedtime story reading dont you think?
