showroom plans

I have been so busy over the past few days. I have been painting my space in the showroom ready to be tiled for the bathroom display I am putting in. It seems like a natural progression being based in a kitchen and bedroom showroom to take the step to design and sell bathrooms and wet rooms. I also have to paint the section of the showroom I have dedicated to tiles as I am now taking on a new range of natural stone flooring from milano Stone as well as the ranges I already sell. I am waiting patiently on some new samples to chose for the flooring for the space here. I am thinking slate grey stone floors?

The new paint sample pots and shelves came last week from The Little Greene Paint Company, so its all coming together nicely now. I feel very excited about it all. I am still really busy with kitchen plans and 3D drawings for Premier Interiors Kitchens (within who's showroom I rent my space.) I have worked for Tony  as a designer for the past six years and absolutely love it and running my own company alongside this is a dream come true.

My friend Selina from The Design Office has done a fantastic job building my website and I have also been busy trying to select photos for it but I really need to knuckle down and chose the wording now so it can be launced. Its all been a bit crazy this week really my head is spinning and I still have to make time to give my house a lick of paint ready to go on the market for sale in January. Last night I was armed with Polyfiller getting the walls of my bedroom ready where I have taken the curtain pole down and left small holes. No rest for the wicked so they say. I dont know whether I am coming or going at the moment with so much going on  recently but its also very exciting seeing plans come together. I cant wait to share the finished result.

Vintage blush

Well the count down to Christmas is pretty much apon us so thought it was time to theme the moodboards & finds towards the Christmas theme and with all this talk of pink roses I thought it only right to have a bit of pink in the mix. So my moodboard today is pink and gold. A femine and vintage feel, I love gold and pink together.

I thought I would throw in this festive heart for good measure that I found on Amazon. A friend of mine has a one of these hanging in her kitchen all year long, hers is in white and it looks fabulous hanging at her back door. she has lots of quirky pieces around her home. Maybe in the future she will let me share her home with you.
The pink and gold bauble I found on Ebay along with the gorgeous pink and gold wreath and the candles.

Pressed roses project

While I have been on the subject of pink roses, I had a beautiful bunch given to me for my birthday from my friends Karen and Andrew. I decided they were so pretty I wanted to dry and press them to make a picture to keep. Roses take a little longer than a lot of flowers to dry out so they wont be ready to frame until after christmas. They are presently sandwiched between kitchen roll in the middle of a book with heavy boxes on top. So a project for January is to put them into a frame for a keepsake (I will later share the finished result with you).  January will be a busy month for me as I am putting my house on the market ready to move in with my partner. So lots of decluttering to do & a lick or two of paint to sprose the place up. But I will have a nice new piece of art work to take with me to my new home.

Think Pink with The Pink Rose Appeal

Pink Rose Appeal

My mood board for today is in honour of The Pink Rose Appeal, celebrating life and beating breast cancer. I have been stressing all week that everything will go well for tomorrows ladies evening that I have been planning for the charity. Everyone has been so generous regarding the event. Tesco are kindly donating wine for the evening so a big thanks to them. Also for everyone who was kind enough to donate raffle prizes and most importantly the girls doing stalls for the evening who are not only donating prizes for the raffle but also 10% of thier evening sales and especially to Vicky of Bottom Drawer who is also letting us hold the event within her shop. So a big thank you girls for all your support, Kelly from Vie at Home, Tracie from BagHappy, Claire from Phoenix Trading and Hannah from Hannah's Buns and of course Vicky from Bottom Drawer and to our beautician for the evening. Fingers crossed girls, lets raise as much funds as we can for this charity. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women in the UK, so lets fight it!!!

Italian Dream

Good morning thought I would share some plans and mood boards I have put together recently for a clients  kitchen/ family room for her Italian holiday home.
(We can all dream of a second home in romantic Italy cant we)
The client was looking for a streamlined and simple look and liked the contemporary look of high gloss laminate for her open plan kitchen.

The hidden handle of the Integrata door from Lubina's Second Nature range creates perfect flowing lines.
The kitchens tone is set by the subdued pallette of the cabinets which is followed through with a variation of hues from the white brick affect tiles to the grey stone floor tiles and the cool blue painted walls, for an understated look.

The warm tones of the Iroko wood block worktops balance and soften the overall look and feel as a contrast to the shiny surfaces of the laminate doors, tiles and appliances.

The kitchen is practicle yet simple. Pull out larder units are used to maximize storage and there are open shelves to house appliances that need to be close to hand but set off the worktops to leave them clear and clutter free. The island unit houses a hob unit with pan drawers beneath to access cooking utensils easily. Pull out units, spice drawers and a wine cooler also feature. The kitchen has everything close to hand yet the look is minamalistic.

A Walk On The Wild Side

Today I have had some fun with some animal prints for my mood board. Teaming zebra stripes with a grey & green colour pallette.  I think the green really gives a great pop of colour to the cool grey hues. Hope you like  it.

While we are walking on the wild side check out the animal prints in the pictures below I found over on fellow blogger Kellie Collis's blogspot http://adaanddarcy.blogspot.com/2010/11/lovely-little-zebra.html
Her online store Ada & Darcy stocks some stunning animal prints from these cute zebra cushions to the beautiful custom made shade; visit her at http://www.adaanddarcy.com.au/ to view her full range of gorgeous goodies.

Inspired by Art

I am still reeling from my suprise birthday party friday night. I love my gorgeous boyfriend & my lovely friends. I totally did not have a clue. Its been the best birthday imaginable. With such a busy weekend there has not been much scanning of blogs for fabulous finds over the passed for days, but I have found a couple of vases inspired by art that I thought I would share on my blog today. Again  http://www.pageonedesign.co.uk/ has come up trumps with this limited edition hand blown black vase decorated with real gold. This beautiful Vase is one of just a few that will be produced by Goebel in this design & is available at £74.00. Pageone design is very much a big favourite of mine as you may have already gathered by my previous posts.

I stumbled across a new blog yesterday Ada & Darcy http://adaanddarcy.blogspot.com/2010/11/ada-darcy-inspired-art.html by blogger Kellie Collis in Sydney Australia who runs boutique interiors & homeware  company Ada & Darcy. She has an aldins cave of beautiful & stylish home decor. This gorgeous Cloisonne vase costs $120.00 from her online shop visit http://www.adaanddarcy.co,.au/
